Academic Requirement:

The University of Greenwich maintains a comprehensive set of entry requirements for international applicants seeking admission to both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs. For UG courses, applicants typically need to demonstrate academic proficiency equivalent to specific educational qualifications, varying based on the country of origin. This might include completion of secondary education with specified grades in relevant subjects. Additionally, proficiency in the English language is essential, often demonstrated through recognized language tests or completion of English-language qualifications.

For PG programs, candidates are expected to hold a relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification, again with specific academic requirements tailored to individual countries. The university also assesses language proficiency for non-native English speakers, ensuring that applicants can effectively engage with the academic curriculum and community.

In addition to academic qualifications, country-specific requirements may apply. These could encompass additional documentation, such as transcripts or certificates, as well as specific eligibility criteria unique to certain regions. The university's admissions team meticulously evaluates each applicant's credentials in accordance with both general academic standards and any country-specific prerequisites, ensuring fair and equitable consideration for all prospective students. Furthermore, specific program prerequisites and additional course-specific requirements may apply, depending on the chosen course of study.

By maintaining transparent and comprehensive entry requirements, the University of Greenwich aims to attract a diverse pool of talented individuals from around the world, fostering an inclusive and dynamic academic environment.

Accommodation for International Students

  • All students coming to the university for the first time are guaranteed a place in a hall of residence provided they meet the conditions of the Accommodation Guarantee; these include being a full-time student, being qualified and accepted onto a course and applying for accommodation by the relevant deadlines, and attending for the entire academic session.

  • All university managed accommodation is self-catering. Internet access is included in the hall fees.

  • International students are able to apply for any of our residences across the 3 campuses. There is a mix of international students living alongside UK-based students in all of the residences.

  • Accommodation at the Avery Hill and Medway Campuses is located on campus, a short distance from teaching and leisure spaces. For students living at the Avery Hill campus who study at the Greenwich campus, a free 20-minute shuttle bus runs between the 2 sites throughout the day. At the Greenwich Campus, halls are all located within a 15 minutes’ walk of the university.

  • Students moving into halls of residence sign a license agreement for a set time period and remain in halls until their license agreement ends. Residents are not required to move out during Christmas or Easter vacations but cannot be guaranteed accommodation for the summer vacation unless their contract already includes this period. Rooms are normally available for students continuing on their courses over the summer vacation period.
